Being awarded a ranking in the Platts Top 250 is an accomplishment of prestige and honour in the energy industry. Platts Top 250 Global Energy Companies rankings will also showcase the world's fastest-growing energy companies, based on each company's compounded revenue growth over a three-year period.
To attain the most comprehensive assessment of energy companies' financial performance, we used four key metrics: asset worth, revenues, profits, and return on invested capital.
In addition to ranking the top energy companies overall, Platts also distinguishes best performance in nine industry subcategories (Coal and Consumable Fuels, Diversified Utility, Electric Utility, Exploration and Production, Gas Utility, Independent Power Producers, Integrated Oil and Gas, Refining and Marketing, Storage and Transfer) and three global regions: Asia; Europe, Middle East & Africa; Americas.
