Matthew Boyle, Australia-Pacific editor for Platts International Coal group, joined Platts in Tokyo in 2001 to cover the Japanese and South Korean metals markets. He spent 25 years in the global oil and gas business, including serving as an independent valuation and risk consultant. He holds a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and an MBA in finance and strategy from Southern Methodist University.

Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, Davidson was a general assignment and local government reporter for daily newspapers in Ohio and Virginia for nearly a decade before joining Platts in November 1995.

Linda Rafield, Platts' senior analyst, reports on U.S. futures markets and is responsible for Platts Futures & Derivatives Review. She spent 13 years at COMEX as an arbitrage clerk, floor broker and independent floor trader, and ran the Deutsche Bank gold book for six years. She majored in international politics at Columbia University and holds a post-graduate certificate in risk management from New York University.
