Intra-day indicators for US Gulf Coast petrolem markets

Intra-day indicators for US Gulf Coast petrolem markets

During the course of the trading day, Platts publishes intra-day market indicators for various light ends products on Platts Global Alert (PGA). Effective July 1, 2004, Platts is planning to add an intra-day page for US Gulf Coast No. 2 low sulfur diesel on PGA page 287. The relevant page will be updated at 10:30 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, 2:30 PM, 3:00PM and 3:30 PM Eastern Time. The published data reflect a range in value at which a trader could have bought or sold a product at each update’s specified time frame. For instance, a cash indication for unleaded gasoline published at 11:00AM might read 115.1 to 115.6 cts/gal and implies that a principal wishing to conduct business from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM should have been able to reach a price between 115.1 and 115.6 cts/gal. The published value refers to prompt product delivered into the Colonial Pipeline system at Pasadena, Texas. Intra-day data are time stamped market indicators, and may not resemble the Platts end-of-day spot price assessment. For comments, please contact David Ruisard or John Kingston.
