Jon Wellinghoff, Chairman, US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
Platts reporters and other credentialed media convened to hear US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Chairman Jon Wellinghoff address FERC's ongoing look at gas/electric coordination and other matters before the commission.
A Democrat, Wellinghoff was first appointed as a commissioner in 2006 by President George W. Bush, and then was named chairman in 2009 by President Barack Obama. Prior to joining FERC, he was in private practice, focusing on regulatory, consumer and commercial law. He served two terms as the Nevada Consumer Advocate for Customers of Public Utilities.
