China's November electricity consumption rose 7.6% year-on-year to 413.9 TWh, according to figures released by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission Tuesday. Of the November total, industrial electricity consumption represented 310.1 TWh, up 7.0% year-on-year. Over January-November China consumed 4.5028 PWh of electricity, up 5.1% year-on-year. Of the January-November total, industrial electricity consumption comprised 3.264 PWh, up 3.4% year-on-year. At the end of November, the combined design capacity of China's power units -- each with a design power generation capacity of at least 6 MW -- rose 8.2% year-on-year to 1.075 TW. Of that, coal-fired power units comprised 795.63 GW, up 6.7% year on year; hydropower units accounted for 207.43 GW, up 7.8%; and nuclear power units represented 12.57 GW, up 5.6%. In January-November, the working hours of China's coal-fired power units totaled 4,507, down 301 hours or 6.3% year-on-year, while the working hours of hydropower units totaled 3,351, up 497 hours or 17.4%.
