Brazil's primary aluminium production reached 1.436 million mt in 2012, down 0.3% from 1.44 million mt in 2011, according to figures released by the ABAL, the Associacao Brasileira do Aluminio. Output in December was 117,600 mt, down 5.5% from December 2011 production of 124,400 mt. For the full year 2012, Votorantim Metais saw its production rise 11.2% to 454,900 mt from 409,000 mt in 2011, according to ABAL figures.
