Platts daily molybdenum oxide prices on Friday were unchanged from Thursday at $11.20-11.25/lb as sources continued to report little activity in the market. One Europe-based trader said he sold a truckload of briquettes into Italy at $11.40/lb but he was seeing no interest in powder and that prices were still at the $11.20-25 range. "I'm hearing more inquiries on ferromolybdenum where there is a little interest compared to nothing on powder," a second trader said. Article continues below... He said he had heard $27.40/kg as the lowest number, but had not been offered at this price but was seeing $27.70-27.80/kg. A third trader agreed that oxide was not moving, but said ferromolybdenum had moved from its mid-week lows to $27.70/kg. But he said it is "unclear how much business was done at the low levels and now offers are back up. But really there's nothing behind it."
