SunCoke Energy anticipates lower 2013 results due to a $40/short ton average sales price decline in its metallurgical coal mining segment. The Lisle, Illinois-based coke producer, which issued full-year 2013 guidance Tuesday, said it expects adjusted EBITDA for 2013 to be between $205-230 million, down about $40-50 million from 2012. SunCoke said it also anticipates 2013 domestic coke production to exceed 4.3 million st, representing another year of 100% capacity utilization. It forecasted coal sales increasing slightly to 1.7 million st from 2012's 1.5 million st. Article continues below... CEO Fritz Henderson said the startup this year of SunCoke's Middletown, Ohio, cokemaking operation made a "substantial contribution" to its results.
