Nigeria LNG said Tuesday a force majeure declaration remains in place on gas exports from the six-train Bonny Island LNG plant. "It has not been lifted, because two of the suppliers still have theirs in place," a Nigeria LNG spokeswoman told Platts by e-mail. "Although much of their restoration work is done and the sum total of all their supplies meet the contractual supply volumes." The two suppliers that still have force majeure in place on gas supplies to the plant are France's Total and Italy's Agip, the spokeswoman added. Nigeria LNG declared force majeure on October 23 following disruptions to gas supplies to the plant. Nigeria has the world's seventh-largest gas reserves and can export around 22 million mt/year of LNG to global markets from the plant. The six-train Bonny LNG plant is operated by Nigeria LNG, a joint venture between Nigerian National Petroleum Corp.
