California jet fuel production rose more than 15% in the week ended February 1, California Energy Commission data showed Thursday. The CEC, in its Weekly Fuels Watch, said jet fuel production jumped 15.3% in the week to 1.697 million b/d, but was still down 16.3% from the year-ago week. Jet fuel and naphtha refinery stocks stood at 3.306 million barrels, down 2.7% on the week and down 12.9% on the year. Despite the rise in production, Los Angeles jet fuel differential rose 4.25 cents, to the NYMEX March heating oil futures contract plus 15.75 cents/gal, according to Platts data.Article continues below...Sign up for Oilgram News today. California-specific CARB diesel production averaged 1.625 million b/d during the week, rising 14.3% from the previous week. Production was up 27.7% from the same week last year. Bucking the rise in production, Los Angeles CARB diesel differential rose 50 points in the reporting week to plus 7.50 cents/gal and San Francisco CARB diesel differential rose 1.25 cents to plus 7.50 cents/gal, according to Platts data.
