Thai refiner SPRC plans to skip spot gasoline exports for Dec

Thai refiner Star Petroleum Refining Co plans to skip spot gasoline exports in December, to meet an anticipated rise in domestic demand over the holiday season, a source close to the company said Tuesday.

The refiner had sold 10,000 mt of 81 RON gasoline that loaded earlier in November for export, but refrained from selling another 10,000 mt of 87 RON gasoline for end November loading -- which it had earlier planned to sell -- due to additional prompt demand from the domestic market, the source said.

For October, SPRC sold around 10,000 mt of 87 RON gasoline.

Separately, SPRC plans to completely phase out the production of conventional 91 RON gasoline at its 145,000 b/d refinery at Map Ta Phut from around December 28, in line with the kingdom's complete replacement of 91 RON gasoline with gasohol from January 1, 2013, Platts previously reported.
