Sinopec, CNPC end Nov oil product stocks in China's 13 grain provinces rise on month

China's commercial inventories of oil products in 13 grain-producing provinces held by state companies Sinopec and China National Petroleum Corp. totaled 3.78 million mt as of November 25, the National Development and Reform Commission said Friday.

This is higher than total stocks of 3.75 million mt as of October 26.

Stocks of gasoil, which is widely used in agriculture, totaled 1.94 million mt, higher than the 1.88 million mt million mt at the end of September.

The NDRC did not provide year-ago comparisons.

The data covered Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, Jiangxi, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan and Sichuan.

Eastern Jiangsu and Inner Mongolia had the highest oil stocks at 434,500 mt and 433,600 mt, respectively, with gasoil accounting for 203,200 mt and 290,100 mt.

China's peak harvest season is over June-August. Agricultural activity is suspended in the north in the winter months although some harvesting continues in the southern provinces.
