The December US terephthalic acid contract price was unchanged from November on a flat US contract for paraxylene feedstock, market sources said Monday. PTA contracts were assessed at 64.35-64.45 cents/lb ($1,419-1,421/mt), flat from November. The PTA market continued to be slow, following in line with the downstream polyethylene terephthalate market, market sources said. The December US PX contract price settled unchanged from November at 76.5 cents/lb ($1,686.52/mt), sources said Monday.
