As of September 28, 2011, it generated approximately 940 megawatts of electricity through 5 power stations located in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, and Goa. The company supplies power primarily to residential, industrial, and commercial customers.

It also provides engineering, procurement, and construction services for power generation, transmission, and distribution projects; and for various infrastructural projects, including highways, roads, bridges, airports, metro rail and other mass rapid transit systems, special economic zones, real estate, and cement plants.

Reliance Infrastructure Limited is developing two metro rail projects in Mumbai; operating the Airport Metro Express with a total stretch of 66 Kms and 45 stations in Delhi; operating and maintaining five airports in Maharashtra; and developing 11 road projects with a total length of 968 kms.

The company was formerly known as Reliance Energy Limited and changed its name to Reliance Infrastructure Limited in April 2008. Reliance Infrastructure Limited was incorporated in 1929 and is based in Navi Mumbai, India.
