Since 1996, Dr. Dominic Maclaine has been the editor of the monthly newsletter Power UK published by Platts (and previously by Financial Times Energy).
He also created and runs the Platts Energy Research Initiative (PERI) -- which fosters links between Platts and academia and produces new research on the energy sector.
Before Power UK, he worked for various publications including Utility Week and Electrical Review and has written articles that have been published in the Financial Times and New Statesman magazine. He has also written two in-depth reports on the electricity industry for the Financial Times -- 'Power as a commodity' and 'The UK electricity supply market' -- as well as contributing to others.
He initially trained as an engineer and has a PhD in science and technology policy from the Science Policy Research Unit at the University of Sussex.
