William Powell

William Powell has been reporting on gas markets since 1995.

Before becoming editor of Platts' fortnightly global newsletter International Gas Report in October 2006 he spent a few years running Platts' European real-time news and gas and power market reporting team and editing European Natural Gas Report.

Before joining Platts he was managing editor at Financial Times Energy, where he launched Gas Daily Europe, a news and markets publication. He was then also editor of the fortnightly UK Gas Report.

Before becoming a journalist he worked at the London office of a law firm representing clients mainly with east European and former Soviet Union assets.
