Gary Taylor

Gary Taylor joined Platts in April 2004 as senior writer in the Houston bureau for Platts Oilgram News after seven years covering the chemical industry as deputy editor for Reed Elsevier's real time chemical news website.

Previously he covered a wide range of stories during a 17-year stint as a freelance journalist in Houston. Among other assignments during those years he covered Texas upstream activity as correspondent for The Explorer, the monthly publication of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG).

Earlier, he covered local court and government activities from 1969-80 as a newspaper reporter at The Flint (Michigan) Journal and The Houston Post.
