Exelon's Oyster Creek nuclear unit at 85% power after maintenance outage

Washington (Platts)--28 Nov 2016 607 pm EST/2307 GMT

Exelon Generation's 670-MW Oyster Creek nuclear unit in Forked River, New Jersey, was operating at 85% of capacity early Monday after completing a four-day maintenance outage, the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission said in its daily reactor status report.

The unit shut November 20 so Exelon could address a problem in the turbine control system, it said that day.

Oyster Creek returned to service Thursday, synchronizing with the electric grid at 2:20 am EST (0720 GMT), Exelon spokeswoman Suzanne D'Ambrosio said in an email Monday.

D'Ambrosio did not say when Oyster Creek is expected to reach 100% of capacity.
