Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) prices climbed 5% in January to $1,550 per metric ton (/mt), up from the December price of $1,476/mt, according to the just-released monthly average of the Platts Global Petrochemical Index (PGPI), a benchmark basket of seven widely used petrochemicals.
