Prices for a second polymer component of the PGPI – polypropylene – rose 5% in January to $1,538 per metric ton (/mt), up from the December average of $1,470/mt, according to the just-released monthly average of the Platts Global Petrochemical Index (PGPI), a benchmark basket of seven widely used petrochemicals.
