Platts Global Propylene Price Index

The chart above shows the daily end-of-day Platts Global Propylene Price Index price in red and also displays the 20-day moving average in blue.


Prices of propylene, the olefin raw input used in the manufacturing of polypropylene, fell 6% in April to $1,247 per metric tons (/mt), according to the just-released PGPI data expressed as a monthly average.


This was down from $1,331/mt in March. The April price decline was attributed to lower raw input costs and softened demand for propylene derivatives.
