Obama administration aiming high to regulate aircraft emissions

Herman Wang and Brian Scheid

You can come out of your tinfoil bunker: The Obama administration's recently announced plans to regulate commercial aircraft emissions, but any effects would likely be years in the future. Platts senior oil editors and Herman Wang and Brian Scheid wonder if this is part of a government conspiracy on chemtrails, but associate editor Kent Carlson, who covers the jet fuel market, sets them straight by drawing parallels to other sulfur-cutting efforts. Joel Velasco, a consultant with Albright Stonebridge Group, also joins to explain how the effort to clean up jet fuel -- and cut down on emissions -- could prove a boon for the nascent biojet market.
