Momentum building up for upstream policy reform in India

November 27, 2015 (7:43 mins)

Years of debate on whether India should stick to a cost-recovery model or not for its upstream industry may soon come to an end. India has recently released a proposal that could change the country's oil and gas exploration policy. In this podcast, Platts editorial director Vandana Hari, associate editorial director for oil news Mriganka Jaipuriyar and LNG editor Abache Abreu explain India's need for a new upstream policy, the potential advantages of a proposed revenue-sharing model, and how much impact a policy change could deliver in a low oil price environment where upstream investments are being taken off the table.
