Slowing summer storage injections set stage for US gas markets this winter

August 19, 2015 (6:21 mins)

The miserably hot weather across parts of the US this summer has slowed natural gas storage injections, quieted forwards markets and kept many spot markets flat, except for the Northeast. Platts gas market team members Curt Mrowiec and Chris Pedersen talk with Bentek Energy senior analyst Bob Yu about the records set this summer, how production is keeping pace with power burn demand, where storage may be at the end of the season, recent market movements, and what the winter could hold.

The following Platts assessments were discussed in this podcast:
Price Date
Tennessee, zone 4-300 leg daily assessment $0.670/MMBtu 08/18/2015
Transco, zone 6-NY prompt month assessment -58.80 /MMBtu 08/18/2015
