US biodiesel, ethanol likely to see demand drop as seasons shift

A waning driving season and dropping corn prices have weighed recently on US ethanol prices, and biodiesel is being left by the wayside in favor of cheaper competing fuels that have been affected by falling crude oil prices. Wes Swift, Platts editor for agriculture and biodiesel, and Jordan Godwin, Platts biofuel analyst, evaluate the markets for the biofuels, as well as for RINs, and discuss what could have an impact on prices and production in the near future.
