European LNG reloads ex-Spain grow in 2015 as new markets emerge

While LNG reloads from European ports were down over 36% in 2015, largely due to weaker global demand in the Asia Pacific and South American basins, past flexibility and availability of cargoes from Spain has allowed it to historically claim the lion's share of the reload market. With tighter spreads between European gas prices and LNG spot markets, Desmond Wong, Platts managing editor, European and Atlantic Basin LNG, explains why market players now see European ex-Spain reloads as a viable option.
