ARA jet fuel, kerosene stocks down 1% on week to 10-week low: PJK

London (Platts)--22Dec2017/554 am EST/1054 GMT

Jet fuel and kerosene stocks in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp and Ghent trading hub fell 1.04% in the week ended Thursday, according to data from PJK International.

Jet fuel and kerosene levels fell to a fresh 10-week low of 665,000 mt from 672,000 mt the previous week.

Destocking has been encouraged by the market structure which has been flat to narrowly backwardated on the jet fuel swaps.

End of year accounting has also encouraged some destocking, where traders look to have minimal stocks going into the new year.

Backwardation between the front-month and second-month CIF Northwest Europe jet fuel cargo swaps reduced to flat Thursday while the $2/mt contango on the ICE low sulfur gasoil futures brought the outright price structure between the front-month and second-month to the lowest level since June at minus $2/mt.
