US Data: EIA says US jet fuel production hits all-time high

Houston (Platts)--29Dec2017/544 am EST/1044 GMT

Refiner and blender net production of jet fuel in the US reached its highest recorded level last week, the latest Energy Information Administration data showed Thursday.

US jet production climbed 143,000 b/d week on week to an all-time high of 1.850 million b/d during the week that ended December 22.

The rise was largely buoyed by higher production on the Gulf Coast, climbing 90,000 b/d on the week to six-month high of 930,000 b/d, followed by West Coast production, which rose 26,000 b/d to 507,000 b/d.

Total US jet fuel stocks rose slightly week on week, up 41,000 barrels to 39.875 million barrels.

East Coast inventories fell by 711,000 barrels to 8.587 million barrels, while Gulf Coast stocks rose 912,000 barrels to 14.211 million barrels.

S&P Global Platts assessed benchmark Buckeye Pipeline jet fuel in New York Harbor at NYMEX January ULSD minus 1.5 cents/gal Thursday, down 50 points from Wednesday.

Gulf Coast jet for delivery on Colonial Pipeline's second cycle, dropped 25 points Thursday to NYMEX February ULSD minus 15.25 cents/gal.

Total jet fuel supplied in the US, which is a measure of product demand, fell 301,000 b/d from the previous week's highest-ever reported level to 1.807 million b/d, EIA data showed. US exports, meanwhile, rose 109,000 b/d to 169,000 b/d, while imports fell 183,000 b/d to 132,000 b/d.
