When you work at Platts, the world’s leading energy information provider, you get the best of a small company and a Fortune
500 corporation. With more than 900 employees in more than 15 offices spanning five continents,
Platts has a highly diverse workforce, a global perspective, and a “business casual” culture. As a subsidiary of McGraw Hill Financial, Platts offers employees a competitive compensation program, a comprehensive benefits package, and a broad spectrum of professional development opportunities. As an employee of Platts and McGraw Hill, you are part of an organization with a long-standing legacy of journalistic independence and integrity, and a steadfast commitment to providing the markets with the highest quality, most timely and reliable information.
While Platts employs staff in functions that range from marketing and conference planning to finance and project management, Platts most frequently recruits in the two core areas that drive its business growth: Editorial, which is responsible for generating the content provided to Platts’ clients, and Sales, which initiates and develops relationships with Platts’ broad base of clientele in the energy and metals markets.
Platts’ Editorial team looks for people who have broad sets of experiences, backgrounds, and approaches. We hire people with experience as reporters, editors and business analysts to work with the global markets. In the United States, we have major news rooms in Houston, New York and Washington, D.C.
Internationally, our largest bureaus are in London and Singapore. Our reporters and analysts write business news stories and related market analysis and work against daily, weekly and real-time deadlines. We need people who are flexible and adaptable to changing conditions, and welcome candidates who are multi-lingual and who have worked, travelled or lived in multiple cultures.
Platts’ Sales team looks for energetic self-motivated sales professionals with experience managing customer accounts and developing new business. We specifically seek candidates who have experience working in some facet of the energy industry, selling into energy markets or trading energy securities. Our worldwide customer base is diverse and multi-lingual and we expect our sales force to reflect our customer demographics.
At Platts, you can be sure of joining a fast-paced, global business and playing a role in helping to bring transparency and efficiency to the world’s energy markets.
