Argentina raises ethanol prices for oil refiners in September

Buenos Aires (Platts)--4 Sep 2017 920 pm EDT/120 GMT

Argentina's Energy Ministry authorized Monday a 1.3% increase in sugarcane-based ethanol prices for oil refiners blending into gasoline in September compared with August, and a 1.7% rise in corn ethanol prices over the same period.

Refiners must pay Peso 16.805/liter ($0.98/liter) for supplies of sugarcane-derived ethanol in September to meet a 12% blend requirement in gasoline, up 1.3% from Peso 16.591/liter in August, the ministry said.

The price of corn-based ethanol was raised 1.7% to Peso 13.609/liter in September from Peso 13.383/liter in August, it added.

The biggest oil refiner is state-run YPF, trailed by Axion Energy, Shell, Oil Combustibles and Pampa Energia.
