Total starts four months of major works at Gonfreville petrochemical site

Barcelona (Platts)--8 Mar 2018 626 am EST/1126 GMT

Total started four months of major maintenance works at its Gonfreville petrochemical site in Normandy on March 4, the French company said in a statement seen by S&P Global Platts late Wednesday.

It said these major works occur every seven years and will affect its steam cracker and its butadiene, styrene and aromatics units, as well as one polyethylene unit.

Preparation for these works, costing around Eur80 million ($99 million), began three years ago and the company will work progressively on different units.
