NWE and Baltic Bunkers Commentary

New York (Platts)--06Dec17/0745 pm EST/ 0045 GMT

Falling ICE Brent and crude oil futures applied downward pressure to bunker fuel values in Northwest Europe Wednesday, adding bearish weight to decreasing upstream high sulfur fuel oil barges. Despite increased selling interest and limited buying interest in the HSFO market, availability of 380 CST fuel oil in Rotterdam was tight for prompt delivery, bunker sources said. Demand was heard average. Buying interest in Hamburg, Germany, continued to be slow, sources said. The Scandinavian ports of Gothenburg, Skaw and Great Belt saw notable decreases, having resisted a downward trend the previous day. Supply of marine gasoil in St. Petersburg, Russia, was on the tight side but this was easing, a buyer said. Middle distillates in Russia have been in limited supply recently, sources said.
