European steel mills buck the global pricing trend on a macroeconomic perfect storm

Scrap prices rebounded upwards in Turkey and the US after the recent weakness, while European levels remained more stable. Meanwhile, iron ore levels ended slightly down from the start of December. US flats fell sharply, while rebar prices were reduced in early January, and Asian coil prices fell further during the period of December and early January.
