With Harry Weber, senior natural gas writer, and Henry Edwardes-Evans, associate editorial director for Power in Europe

September 24, 2017 20:00:00 EST (4:52)

The 2017 S&P Global Platts Top 250 Global Energy Company Rankings® saw a significant changing of the guard from years past as a 12-year reign at No. 1 ended and utilities got a boost from higher power prices. Harry Weber, senior natural gas writer, spoke with Henry Edwardes-Evans, associate editorial director for Power in Europe, about the biggest changes in the rankings. Integrated oil and gas companies continued to rank highly due to their size and diversity, while coal interests were hit especially hard and energy companies across the board are overhauling their portfolios to focus on their core business. Does this year's ranking give any clues as to what next year could bring?
